The Island is also renowned for its fresh seafood, luxurious resorts, and various activities like snorkelling, scuba diving, and hiking. Phuket truly offers something for everyone, making it one of the most popular destinations in Southeast Asia.

Even though the flight was to Phuket, our destination was different: Ko Yao Yai, an island located between Phuket and Krabi, known for its pristine beaches, lush landscapes, and laid-back atmosphere. We had an evening flight from Singapore (6:20 PM) to Phuket City (7:05 PM), around one hour in the air. The real adventure starts after immigration. We need to take the ferry to Santhiya Koh Yao Yai, the resort where we are staying.

we have to travel by Car and Private longtail Boat as the ferry is not available after 5:00 PM.

  • Around 25 minutes from the airport to Bangrong Pier by car
  • Around 45 minutes from Bangrong Pier to Santhiya Koh Yao Yai by long tail boat.

Santhiya Koh Yao Yai is a luxurious resort on the scenic Island of Koh Yao Yai, offering stunning views of Phang Nga Bay. The resort blends traditional Thai architecture with modern amenities, providing an unforgettable, authentic experience in a natural, peaceful setting. With its private beach, spa, and dining options, Santhiya is a perfect escape for those seeking relaxation, adventure, and top-tier service.

Our Itinerary

Day 1

PHI PHI ISLANDS BY LONG TAIL BOAT

A leisurely day trip by long tail boat to Phi Phi Islands’s famous crystal clear archipelago.

Phi Phi Ley: Koh Phi Phi Ley is the second largest Island in the archipelago, and it is formed by a ring of steep limestone hills surrounding two shallow bays, Maya Bay and Loh Samah. Another stunning feature of the Island is the large shallow fjord-like inlet called Bi Leh, with a small coral reef at the entrance.

Maya Bay: Maya Beach is the film location for Leonardo DiCaprio’s movie ‘The Beach’. The bay features a fantastic blue lagoon and white sandy beach. Here, we stop to enjoy swimming in the crystal clear water and exploring the natural trail on this tiny Island.

Bi Leh Lagoon: Swimming and snorkelling inside this enclosed lagoon surrounded by a tall limestone wall will not be missed!

Day 2

Hong Island by longtail boat

The main attraction is Hong Island itself, featuring a spectacular lagoon, a must-see while in the region. The surrounding smaller islands are brimming with natural beauty, with pristine beaches, deep and shallow snorkelling sites, and unforgettable limestone formations.

Hong Island: Home to white-faced gibbons, monitor lizards and many bird species, Hong Island is a natural paradise with a hidden treasure.

Bileh Bay: This award-winning beach received a 5-star environmental award for three years running, from 2005-2008.

Lao Ra Ding Island: The white sandy beach and coral reef are surrounded by a limestone formation, making it one of the best snorkelling sites in the archipelago.

Nok Island: The small, peaceful Nok Island, situated northeast of Koh Yao Yai, is the gateway to the Hong Island archipelago.

Day 3

we went for an ATV drive, spent time in the resort with SPA

Day 4 Morning, we left the Island by boat and went back to Singapore.

That was a fantastic experience, and we need to go again. Some snaps from the trip
