For Migrating user profiles from one user to other in domain or from work group to domain
Look in the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionProfileList.
You will see a set of GUIDs, one for each user which logged into that computer. Open each of them and observer which one is the correct one you want to move to and from

For users migrating from Workgroup to Domain , here are the steps :
You can modify the Profile Image Path value item for the username in the new domain to point to the profile folder for the corresponding username from the old domain. Then, the user will use the same profile for both domains; there is no need to copy the profile.
